Dear Prospective Chicago Fit Performance Team Member,

Thanks for taking the time to visit this site!  You should have arrived here because you saw our internship posting or you were referred here by one of our great CFP Fitness supporters.  It is our hope that you are exactly the person we are looking for so that we can take this page down immediately and offer you the fun and rewarding job that we have available.

So, let me tell you a little about our company and the opportunity.

My name is Kosta Shilev and I founded Chicago Fit Performance in March of 2011.  At Chicago Fit Performance we provide life changing results for our clients, not to mention an incredible fitness experience. We pride ourselves in having a great team, an incredible service and creating a unique and exceptional fitness experience for our clients.  It is our mission to help them all reach their goal and HAVE FUN doing it!

We are looking to add a new member to our team that is an enthusiastic, organized, motivated, and hard working individual.

  • Make A Great First Impression - In many cases you will be the first person a client, potential client or visitor interacts with.  Whether you are greeting a person at the door or answering emails you’ll be responsible for making sure everyone gets the information they need and feels taken care of from the moment that they first interact with you.

  • Office Management - A lot goes into maintaining an office, especially that of a busy fitness business.  We will need you to be able to create and modify documents, perform clerical duties such as filing, copying, data entry, mailing, purchasing office supplies and maintaining inventory as well as fulfill other responsibilities.

These are the skills and characteristics that you must have already have in order to qualify for this position:

  • Excellent Communication Skills - You must be able to communicate effectively in person, via phone and email to all clients and prospective clients.  As a member of our team that will have daily interactions with our clients, it is critical that you are always on top of your game with communication.  This means that you are clear, concise and above all, friendly in all interactions.

  • Exceptional Client Service Skills - You must be a person that loves to serve. Instead of seeing challenges you see opportunities to make our client experience better.  All of our clients and prospective clients are VERY important to us and you must be relentless to find solutions for them.  Going above and beyond is standard practice at Force Fitness and we would expect no less from you.

  • Be a TEAM Player - You must be willing to work on a team and be part of something greater than yourself.  At Chicago Fit Performance we work within a system to help our clients, that is our #1 priority.  You must be able to work in a fast paced environment and develop positive relationships with other team members.

  • Desire to Lean and Grow - We value education and performance development at Chicago Fit Performance.  We encourage our team to find ways to help them grow in their positions and in their lives.  We want the very best for each of our team members and are willing to support them in their journey to learn and grow.  You must be motivated and we'll help you to get better each and every day so that your performance is top notch.

Do you connect with these?  If Yes, continue on…

We are looking to get on board the right person as soon as possible.  So, if this job sounds like it is the perfect fit for you follow these instructions precisely.  Failure to follow these instructions will result in your resume being thrown out immediately.  This is your first test, okay?

Here is what we want from you:

  • Write a resume that includes your education, ALL prior work experience (yes, we even want to know if you mowed lawns as a teenager), and the skills that you possess. It should be 1-2 pages in length, but no longer.

  • Write a 100-200 word (we will count) cover letter explaining why you are the perfect person to fill this position.  Include at least one of the core values in this cover letter.  Include full contact information (name, address, phone, email) on this cover letter.

  • On a separate sheet of paper list at least three references with phone numbers and what your relationship is with the references.  (i.e.- previous employer, college professor, etc).

  • Place all three documents in a manilla envelope.

  • Hand deliver this package to Chicago Fit Performance and ask for Kosta before 9:00 am M-F.  If Kosta is not present you may leave it with the person at the front desk.  All documents should be addressed to Kosta Shilev.  Chicago Fit Performance is located at 1535 N Dayton Street, Chicago IL 60642.

  • Complete and submit the form at the bottom of this page so that we can match it up when we receive your resume.

If you followed the instructions to the letter (remember, we need a detail oriented person on our team), we will review your application.  If we feel that you are a good prospect we will call or email you to set up a personal interview.  If we feel that you are not qualified we will send you a courtesy email to thank you for your time.  If you do not hear from us at all that means that you did not follow the instructions properly.

The sooner we get your application, the better! This will not be a long, drawn out process.  I believe in taking action quickly.  We will hire the first person that we feel is the right fit for our team. So, get your application in pronto!  I look forward to reviewing it and hopefully meeting you personally.

Again, thank you very much for your interest.

Kosta Shilev

P.S. This is not a corporate structure type job.  We are a entrepreneurial driven small business.  I move quickly to capitalize on opportunities.  This is not the type of job where just showing up is good enough.  Chicago Fit Performance means everything to me and our team.  If you perform, you will be rewarded.  I want nothing more than to find a person who takes a real interest in doing EXCEPTIONAL work and contributing to the growth of the business.

With all that said, enthusiasm and a positive attitude go a long way in my book. We can teach you the skills but can’t change your character. We are a positive team and choose to surround ourselves with like minded individuals to create an amazing work atmosphere. As long as you have the basic skills and characteristics I mentioned above along with a great attitude you’re definitely a candidate.

So, send us your resume today!
