------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. What do you do for a living?

I am a general dentist and owner of a private practice in Elmwood Park.

2. How long have you been a member of Chicago Fit Performance?

I have been a member of CFP since June of 2013, so for a little more than 2 years now.

3. Tell us about your fitness background?

I was attending gymnastic classes since I was 7 years old for about 3 years. Besides this, I was just generally active kid as almost everyone was during those years since we did not have video games, etc. After I came to the USA, I have been trying to stick with gym (Bally's gyms, etc) but I have always failed to make it as a routine part of life because, I guess, I just have not developed a strong self discipline.

4. Take us back to your first workout with CFP... what was it, and how did it feel?

My first impression could be called "cautiously optimistic". The "caution" part was related to my own previous gym commitment failures and optimistic part was due to what I saw: attentive coaches, welcoming group of people of all sizes and levels of training. I remember a few things from my first workout: I could not jump on the box of any height because I felt too heavy and at one point I thought I could never would be able to do it too! I could do only 1 push up and my heart was ready to stop after 15 Jumping Jacks. 5. What do you like the most about CFP and why do you think our program works?

The most I like about CFP is its atmosphere of support and non-judgment from my fellow team members and truly dedicated coaches who help us to keep our spirit up and make our body go at their full abilities.

Why this program works? In my opinion it is due to an excellent choice of exercise combinations that are never the same! The sets are changed every session so we always work on different group of muscles to get a good overall result. It also makes our training more elaborate but also more fun! In addition, Kosta provides you with nutritional counseling, so your full body transformation can be more efficient.

6. When did you realize that Chicago Fit Performance was right for you?

After I learned that my training session makes me feel like being at Disney World: I cannot think about anything at all but what is going on around me - it clears up my mind and refreshes me.

7. What is your favorite workout or your strongest attribute?

I like “Core” exercises, TRX exercises and believe it or not “Hurricanes”.

8. What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting Chicago Fit Performance (before/after)?

I see the results: in two years I went from size 12 to 8, my clothes fit better and I feel happier. Also, I feel stronger and healthier and my profession-related pain in hands shoulders and back is gone. I am still struggling with my eating habits - love for bread is my greatest secret friend and enemy...

The most unexpected thing for me (and my family) was my 2 + year of commitment to Chicago Fit Performance. I truly like it and this is a normal routine part of my life now. I thought it would never happen! As Mary Ann Evans once said” It is never too late to be who you might have been”.

9. What do you think about the trainers and the staff at CFP?

The coaches are wonderful: kind, attentive, knowledgeable and persuasive. If you need help-they are there either to explain or modify the exercise so you can be safe and benefit the most from it. Also… People always know if you try to "cut corners" to deliver the least but to get the most for yourself from your client - you see this at many business places... Not here! Nobody pushes or makes Kosta and other coaches to do extra for us. Would it be researching the great motivational stories to lift our spirits up or remembering our anniversaries and birthdays with the special personal gifts. Kosta and his team do it because it is their life, their love and commitment to the profession and they want to share it with us.

10. How would you describe yourself in one word?

Crab! Hard outside and very sensitive inside!

11. What is your greatest strength/weakness?

Greatest strength: perseverance in achieving my goals.

Greatest weakness: taking many things personally…

12. What is your favorite healthy food & “cheat” food?

Helthy food - salads and fish.

Cheat food - cItalian or French crusty warm breads.

13. What is something that we don’t know about you? (Your hobbies, interesting fact, accomplishment you are proud of, obscure/unique talent, funny story, etc.)

I got accepted to Northwestern University Dental School before I was fluent in English because my lowest grade for National Board part 1 was 90. I have had many funny stories in school due to my broken English! Here is one: we had to make a tooth from the wax to learn about its anatomy and I made one that looked kind of strange but I could not understand why… My common English and slang vocabulary was limited so I was trying to find words to describe it to my teacher, so I said: “Does this tooth look horny enough to you?” He could not reply… got red and laughed for a few minutes.

14. Do you have any advice for people that are on the fence of joining Chicago Fit Performance?

For those who are in a middle of decision making process about joining Chicago Fit Performance, I will advise them by quoting of Unknown: “Some succeed because they are destined to, but most succeed because they are determined to”.

Go ahead! Join us!

*Each month at Chicago Fit Performance we are selecting a Member of the Month. This person will be selected based on a variety of criteria ranging from accountability, motivation, team spirit, results, and more...
