Delicious High Protein Breakfast Ideas

Struggling to get in your morning meal? If you’re like most people, breakfast is something that often falls by the wayside with your diet plan. Sure, you might know that you really should be eating this meal if you want to see optimal results from your program, but, when the morning comes and you have 20 minutes to get out the door in addition to the fact that you just aren’t hungry at all, the last thing on your mind might be food. But, if you can whip yourself up a healthy breakfast meal, you might just find that you put a little more emphasis on getting it in.

Starting your day off with a well-balanced breakfast is one of the best ways to ensure that your metabolism is running as you get going with your day.

Let’s take a quick look at some of the delicious ideas that you should consider. All of these are very high in protein and will ensure you don’t experience a hunger crash mid-morning. Protein Packed Crepes

Combine together one scoop of protein powder with 4-5 egg whites until a very thin better has formed. Chocolate or vanilla will work great for this recipe depending on your flavor preference.

Next, pour onto a hot grill and cook like you would a normal pancake, flipping at half time. Once you’re finished cooking, next you’ll want to smear on some low fat cream cheese or a tablespoon of almond butter. To with some strawberries if using cream cheese or half a banana if using peanut butter, roll up, and then serve.

Protein Pancakes

Another great way to start your day is with some protein pancakes. Similar to the recipe above, this one is a little higher in complex carbs. Combine together 2-3 egg whites, ½ scoop of protein powder along with a 1/3 cup of rolled oats. If you’d like, you can also add a ¼ cup of cottage cheese or Greek yogurt. Pour onto a hot grill and cook like a typical pancake and then serve alongside some low sugar maple syrup.

Protein Smoothie

A protein smoothie is the next quick way to get your day going in a healthy manner. This is perfect for those who need to take something on the go and can’t quite tolerate the thought of solid food. To prepare this, place a cup of almond milk, one scoop of protein powder, a handfull of spinach, one banana, one cup of fresh or frozen strawberries (or any other berries) into a blender. Pulse blend until the shake has reached your desired consistency and then serve. If you’d like to add some healthy fats to this recipe, consider also adding in either a tablespoon of flaxseeds or almond butter or some chia seeds or coconut oil.

So there you have three great ideas that you can use to get your day started off correctly. If you can make sure that you are feeding your body the right mix of nutrients it needs, you can ensure that you stay on course with your diet plan for the rest of the day to come.
